Modi summoned to appear before SIT on Mar 21
New Delhi, Mar 11: In what could bring cheers among the victims of the post Godhra riots cases, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, Mar 11, has been summoned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to appear before it.
Modi has been asked to appear before SIT on Mar 21 for questioning in connection with the Gulbarga society case.
The order comes following a petition filed by Zakia Jaffery, wife of Congress MP Ehsan Jaffery, who was killed during the post Godhra riots.
It has been reported that SIT has gathered crucial evidences against Modi.
However, it is not clear whether Modi would obliged by the summon issued against him.
SIT, headed by former CBI Director R K Raghavan was constituted by the Supreme Court to probe into the post-Godhra riots cases against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and 62 others.
The SC has directed the team to submit its report by Apr 30.
