New Delhi, Mar 11: The government has yet again banned the Fashion TV citing that the channel had violated norms of decency by showing semi-nude women.

The Information and Broadcasting ministry took the decision based on a FTV program which was aired in Sep 2009 showing women partially nude.

The channel will go off air on Thursday, Mar 11 and the ban will last for a span of ten days till Mar 21.

The ministry's statement said that, the visuals were found to be obscene, denigrating women and were not suitable for children and unrestricted public exhibition

In 2007, the government took offense to channel's shows like 'Midnight Hot' and banned the channel for 60 days. The channel was allowed to back on air only after the management rendered an apology.

Indian audiences are known for being extremely sensitive to any form of sexual content in the media.
