PIL to stop telecast of Swami Nithyananda sex tape

Bangalore, Mar 10: To protect the young minds from getting corrupted due to the repeated telecast of Swami Nithyananda's sex tape, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the high court seeking direction to the electronic media to stop broadcasting the video clippings.

"The video clips will affect the children if they are repeatedly telecasted," KN Subbareddy, former president of Bangalore Advocates Association is quoted as saying in a Times of India newspaper report.

The godman's sex scandal emerged when Sun TV followed by other media organisations aired and published the visuals of the video of Swami Nithyananda fondling a Tamil actress, identified as Ranjitha.

The scandal snowballed into a major issue with cheating cases slapped against the Swamiji for outraging the people's religious sentiments.
