India likely to scale down operations in Afghan
New Delhi, Mar 10: In wake of the looming terror threats on Indians, India is reportedly planning to scale down its operation in Afghanistan.
Government sources said that India is asking its citizens working in different reconstructional sectors like power and road in the country to return home.
The goverment is said to have come up with the decision following an assessment made by National Security Adviser (NSA) Shivshankar Menon after his two-day visit to Kabul against the backdrop of the devastating suicide blasts on Feb 26, in which 6 Indians, including two army officers were killed.
On Mar 6, India temporarily suspended its medical mission in Afghanistan.
However, India assured that it would continue its developmental work in the country.
