Rajya Sabha yet again tried to hold the session on the Women's Reservation Bill at 3 pm on Tuesday, Mar 9 only to see another disruptive session as the protesting MPs took to slogan shouting.

Chairperson Hamid Ansari, who waited for several minutes for the protests to die down, put the bill for vote.

Leader of Opposition Arun Jaitley was expected to begin the debate on the Women's Reservation Bill after which voting was to be held.

However, the chairperson's decision to go ahead with voting without the discussions did not fit in well with the BJP, which had particularly demanded that the voting should be held only after discussions.

The Left front has also demanded for discussions before voting.
