Oz: Indian toddler's killer doesn't seek bail
Melbourne, Mar 9: 23-year-old Gursewak Dhillon, who has been accused of killing a 3-year-old Indian toddler, was produced in the court on a charge of manslaughter by criminal negligence on Tuesday, Mar 9.
As per media reports, the Indian sat quietly in the prisoners dock during the appearance at the Melbourne Magistrates" Court and did not even seek bail.
With the prosecution seeking extra time to prepare the brief of evidence against Dhillon, the court adjourned the hearing until Jun 29.
Dhillon has been accused of killing three-year-old Gurshan Singh Channa from Punjab, who was in Australia on a vacation with his parents.
The accused reportedly drove around for three hours placing the child in the boot of his car. He later disposed the body in a field.
Dhillon lived in the same house as the victim but he was not a relative of the child.
