Mkts end lower; Tata Motors, IDFC, Hindalco lose
Mumbai, Mar 9: Amid the selling in metal, oil and gas, realty, auto, capital goods, power and pharma stocks, slipped below the psychological 5100 mark during the session and shut shop on the negative note.
BSE Sensex ended down 50.06 points or 0.29 per cent at 17052.54, while NSE Nifty shut shop at 5101.50, 22.50 points or 0.44 per cent.
Jaiprakash Asso down 3.44 per cent, Tata Motors down 3.24 per cent, Suzlon Energy down 2.84 per cent, IDFC down 2.75 per cent and Hindalco down 2.56 per cent were the top losers.
However, on the positive side, HDFC was up 2.13 per cent, HDFC Bank up 1.75 per cent, Maruti Suzuki was up 1.52 per cent, and Sun Pharma was up 1.32 per cent.
Tata Motors, Jubilant Food, ARSS Infra, SBI and ICICI Bank were the most active on BSE.
In the midcap and smallcap arena, Emami, Asian Star, STC India, Guj NRE Coke Puravankara Projects lost among midcaps while among smallcaps Mahindra Forg, Deep Industries, Sandur Manganes, JMD Telefilms and Websol Energy slipped.

Sensex choppy; Tata Motors, Hero Honda, HUL dip
Sensex, which has been trading rangebound, has turned choppy with a negative bias. At 2: 17 pm, Sensex was down 15.20 points
or 0.09 per cent at 17087.40, and the Nifty down 15.25 points or 0.30 per cent at 5108.75.
Among the largecaps, HDFC gained 1.7 per cent while HDFC Bank, TCS, Wipro and Maruti Suzuki were other gainers, up 1.2 to 1.7
per cent. IT giant Infosys was trading up 0.96 per cent and Cigarette major ITC was trading up 0.72 per cent.
However, Tata Motors, Jaiprakash Associates, Hero Honda, Hindalco and HUL dipped 1.4 to 2.3 per cent. Hindustan Lever was
trading down 1.28 per cent and Index heavyweight Reliance was trading down 1.01 per cent.
Bayer Cropscience, Whirlpool, Anant Raj Industries, Sterlite Technologies and Exide Industries were midcap gainers Hanung Toys, Zylog Systems, Aditya Birla, Graviss Hosp and Apar Industries gained in the smallcap arena.
Phoenix Mills, Emami, UB Holdings, Gujarat NRE Coke and India Cements dipped among the midcaps, while the smallcap losers were Mahindra Forging, Shree Ram Urban, Deep Industries, Subhkam Capital and Ushdev Int.

Mkts quiet in trade; TCS up 1.8 pc
The Indian markets were seeing a quiet session. While Sensex was trading flat, Nifty was holding on to the psychological 5100 mark.
At 11: 26 am, BSE Sensex was down 25.84 points or 0.15 per cent at 17076.76, and NSE Nifty down 15.90 points or 0.31 per cent at 5108.10.
Among the largecaps, TCS emerged as the top gainer as it rose 1.8 per cent. Up 1.1 to 1.6 per cent, Wipro, Sun Pharma, HDFC and HDFC Bank were the other gainers. Tech major Infosys was trading up by 1.13 per cent.
The losers were ata Motors, Jaiprakash Associartes, Hero Honda, Hindalco and DLF, down 2 to 4 per cent. Index heavyweight Reliance was down 1.05 per cent and Refinery major HPCL was down 0.36 per cent.
Whirlpool, Exide Industries, Shriram TransFi, Anant Raj Ind were midcap gainers while Hanung Toys, Graviss Hospitals, Aditya Birla Money, Hitachi Home and Money Matters gained among the smallcaps.
On the losing side, Guj NRE Coke, Coromandel Int, Indiabulls Real and Puravankara Projects lost among the midcaps while Mahindra Forging, Hinduja Foundri, Subhkam Capital, Gemini Communications and Deep Industries were smallcap losers.

Nifty opens flat on weak Asian cues
After seeing a northbound trade in the previous session, Nifty opened the day on a flat note with a negative bias on the back of weak Asian cues. Selling was seen in auto, metals, realty, banks and power stocks.
At 9:06 am, BSE Sensex was down 26.18 points or 0.15 per cent at 17076.42, and the Nifty down 13.25 points or 0.26 per cent at 5110.75.
However, IT, FMCG and capital goods stocks were witnessing buying.
Wipro, ACC, Idea Cellelur and Reliance Industries were the top largecap gainers. Bank of Rajasthan, NMDC, Tata Motors, PNB, ICICI Bank, Ranbaxy, Jindal Steel, SAIL, M&M, DLF and Unitech were the losers.
The Midcap gainrs were Exide Industries, Aventis Pharma, Bannariamman, Shriram TransFi and UTV Software, up 2 to 4 per cent, while GlaxoSmith Con, Madras Cements, Guj NRE Coke and Prakash Ind were slipped 2 to 5 per cent.
In the smallcap arena, CMI FPE, OCL Iron, Manaksia, Kanani Industries and KPIT Cummins gained 4 to 7 per cent while EIH Assoc Hotel, Piramal Glass, Kwality Dairy and Gemini Communications plunged 5 to 7 per cent.
