J&K: Top Hizbul militant killed in an encounter
Jammu, Mar 8: In fresh gun battle between the security forces and the militants, a top Hizbul Mujahideen militant was killed in an encounter in Doda district, police said on Monday, Mar 8.
The self-styled district commander of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit Riyaz Ahmed alias Shaheen Parvez of Ramban district was killed in a joint operation by Rashtriya Rifles and police at Bagwa forest area, on Sunday, Mar 7 evening.
The search operation conducted by troops on a tip-off was retaliated with gun fires by the militants which resulted in the dead of the commander.
The forces recovered an AK rifle, two magazines and two grenades from the slain militant.
