Oz: Indian man arrested in toddler's death
Melbourne, Mar 7: Australian police have charged a person in connection with the death of 3-year-old Indian toddler in Melbourne on Sunday, Mar 7.
Gurshan Singh Channa was found dead far away from his home in this Australian city on Thursday, Mar 4.
"23-year-old Dhillon Gursewak has been charged with manslaughter due to criminal negligence," Australian news agency report said.
According to the report, Gursewak is not a relative but he lived in the same house in David Street where Gurshan stayed with his parents visiting from Punjab.
"Harjit Singh Channa and his wife Harpreet Singh Channa gave statements to police on Friday, Mar 5, but officials say they are not suspects," The Age reported.
An autopsy had failed to determine the cause of death and the boy's full-clothed body showed no signs of trauma, the newspaper said.
Gurshan's death had caused an uproar in India, with New Delhi describing the incident as "most unfortunate".
