Washington, Mar 6: Just two days ahead of the International Women's Day, Indian women have something to be proud of and also gain inspiration from as four Indian women have made their way into the Forbes' 'Heroes Of Philanthropy' list.

The Indian women corporate leaders on the Asia Pacific's 48 'Heroes Of Philanthropy' list include Biocon's CEO Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Anu Aga of Thermax, Kiran Nadar, wife of HCL Technologies co-founder Shiv Nadar, and Rohini Nilekani, wife of IT major Infosys' co-founder Nandan Nilekani.

Commenting on the list, John Koppisch, associate editor of Forbes Asia, said, "These aren't always the biggest givers. Instead we aim to highlight a varied group of generous people, some holdovers from last year but mostly..."

Four people from the each of the twelve markets in the region were chosen based on their contribution to causes like disaster relief, education, health, culture and sciences.

While Hollywood actor Jackie Chan is one of the high-profile giver, others on the list included, Rupert Murdoch's mother Dame Elisabeth Murdoch, Chen Shu-Chu, a vegetable vendor from Taiwan, Peter Gautschi of HongKong, Ruby Khong of Malaysia, and Japan's Soichiro Fukutake.
