UK visa app centres to close for 5 days in Apr

Chennai, Mar 5: The UK visa application centres across south India will be closed for five days in Apr 2010 as part of IT system upgradation.

The British Deputy High Commission release said, "The UK Border agency advises customers that the visa application centres in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Bangalore will be closed from Apr 1 to 5."

The commission further said, "The last date on which the UK Visa Facilitation Services would accept new applications in Hyderabad, Kochi and Bangalore is Mar 30 and Mar 31 for Chennai centre."

The centres will re-open on Apr 6 and those who intend to travel to the UK in Apr are advised to submit their application as soon as possible, it said.
