No Govt opinion on bifurcation to 'T' panel: AP CM

Hyderabad, Mar 3: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Wednesday, Mar 3, said its Government will not give its opinion on the state bifurcation to Srikrishna Committee.

Speaking to reporters, Rosaiah said, "The Andhra Pradesh government will only furnish necessary data to the five-member Srikrishna Committee."

He noted that the the Committee (appointed by the Centre to study the situation in the state) has only sought data related to development works in the state since 1956.

"Accordingly I have directed Chief Secretary S V Prasad to provide whatever information in this regard is required. But as a government we will not give any opinion on the bifurcation issue," he said.

He further said that the state government has appointed senior IAS officer Rajiv Sharma as the nodal officer to coordinate with the Srikrishna Committee.

Sharma will provide all required support on behalf of the government, he added.
