Apple sues HTC; veiled attack against Google?
San Francisco, Mar 3: In what is being seen as a veiled attack against Google Inc, the Apple Inc has filed a lawsuit against HTC Corp for allegedly infringing hardware and software patents.
On Tuesday, Mar 2, Apple filed the suit with both the US international trade commission and the US district court in Delaware.
Apple is seeking direction to stop HTC from selling, marketing or disturbing the products, found to be infringing as many as 20 patents related to iPhone, in the United states.
Google's Nexus One smartphone, which was launched in Jan 2010, was manufactured by HTC.
Even though Apple has not named Google in particular, experts believe that this is an attack against the Internet giant.
"I think this is kind of an indirect lawsuit against Google," Kaufman Bros analyst Shaw Wu told an international news agency.
