Did abducted Sikh youths 'escape' Taliban's captivity or 'rescued' by Pak military?

Islamabad, Mar.2 (ANI): Days after the Taliban beheaded two Sikh youths, the other two Sikh men held captive by the banned extremist outfit have escaped from the captivity in Pakistan's Khyber Agency.

Rajpar Singh and Govind Singh, who reportedly escaped from the Taliban's custody in the Chapri Feroz Khel area reached Tirah valley and handed themselves over to the security forces.

Rajpar, who had received a bullet wound, was immediately shifted to the Combined Military Hospital, The Daily Times reports.

Earlier, reports were flashed in the media regarding the Pakistani military rescuing two abducted Sikh youths between the Khyber agency and Orakzai reagion.

A spokesman of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said acting on a tip-off security forces conducted an operation in the restive region along the boundary between the Khyber and Orakzai agencies and rescued the two Sikh youths.

"Many militants were also killed during the operation and further details about the action would be provided soon," the spokesman said.

Last month, mutilated heads of two Sikh youths were found in a Gurudwara in Peshawar.

The two men, identified as Jaspal Singh and Mahal Singh were kidnapped along with two others by the Pakistani Taliban a month ago from Bara in the Khyber Agency, and a ransom of 30 million rupees were demanded for their safe return.

According to sources, all the four men had shifted to Peshawar to escape the extremist fury in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). (ANI)
