14-year-old girl raped in Surat

Surat, Feb 28: A teenage girl studying in class eighth was raped by two youths in Pandesara area of the city, police said on Sunday, Feb 28.

The incident took place on Friday late night, Feb 26 in Gowalaknagar of Pandesara.

A complaint against two youths, identified as Jamnasingh and his friend Mahendrasingh, was registered on Saturday night, Feb 27.

According to police, the duo had abducted the girl (14) when she was playing near her house, took her to a secluded apartment and allegedly raped her.

Hearing the girl's screams people from the locality rushed to the apartment room and rescued her, but the duo managed to escape, police said.

Pandesara police station inspector K M Gohil, said that both culprits knew the girl and were also seemed to be keeping track of her activities.

A complaint has been lodged by the girl's parents and further investigation in the matter was on and both will be arrested soon, Gohil added.
