Naked man halts plane at Delhi Airport

New Delhi, Feb 27: In a major security breach, a naked man was found lying near the runway of Indira Gandhi International Airport on Friday, Feb 26, media reports said.

The man identified as Arun Rai from Bihar was reportedly drunk at the time of the incident.

According airport authorities the man had apparently jumped over the perimeter wall of the airport and proceeded towards a taxiway, near runway 29 and reached the runway.

The incident came to light at 8:00 pm when the Air Traffic Controller (ATC)notice disturbance on the radar.

The landing of a domestic flight coming from Hyderabad had to be aborted after Rai was found lying in the middle of the runaway.

"The man entered from the T3 construction site. We had to ask flights to land at runway 28 after the intrusion," said an ATC official.

He was handed over Central Industrial Security Force.

Rai is currently being interrogated by the Delhi Police.
