FB post shows Adbullahs as 3 Idiots, Mufti SMSes

Srinagar, Feb 26: A campaign to sully the image of the Abdullah family in Jammu and Kashmir has come up on Facebook.

A post on the popular social networking site shows the three Abdullahs, namely chief minister Omar, his father Farooq and grandfather, the late Sheikh Mohammad, as 3 Idiots.

According a report in DNA, there is also an SMS doing its rounds promoting the malicious Facebook post.

The SMS reads, “Someone posted three idiots on Facebook. Three Abdullahs! Such hatred and anger that could consume everyone."

The SMS is said to have allegedly been sent from the cellphone of People"s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti, said the media report published on Friday, Feb 26.

When contacted Mehbooba reportedly downplayed the matter saying that someone had fowarded her the SMS and she passed it around to a few others.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, however, refused to respond to the 'cheap tricks'.

“I believe people will not take kindly to such a vicious campaign," he is quoted as saying.

Responding to the issue, a former aide of Sheikh, Mohammad Yousuf Taing told DNA, “Only a fool would think of making fun of such a great man. Even Mufti Sayeed [Mehbooba"s father] has paid tributes to Sheikh Abdullah. We respect women, but they should know their limits."
