Now, Dalai Lama is on Twitter
Bangalore, Feb 24: The world's most popular microblogging site, Twitter has found itself a new and a new kind of follower - the Dalai Lama.
The Tibetan spiritual leader joined Twitter to add to the long list of world leaders, celebrities and other popular icons using the microblogging site.
Dalai Lama's 'verified' account was created on Monday, Feb 22. His move came a day after his meeting with Twitter founder Evan Williams in Los Angeles, California.
In two days Dalai Lama had gathered as many as 50,000 followers. As of Wednesday, Feb 24, the exiled leader enjoys 98879 followers.
This comes a year after Twitter was forced to delete a fake account which attracted several thousand followers.
However, if you are hoping to read some words of wisdom from the great spiritual leader, then you might be in for a disappointment as the Tweets posted till now are only concerned with reports on Dalai Lama's ongoing US visit.
