Rail Budget 2010: Six new Ladies Special trains
New Delhi, Feb 24: After successfully flagging off many the Ladies Special train in the year 2009, Mamata Banerjee again announced introduction of six new 'Matribhoomi' of ladies special trains in Railway budget 2010.
The trains will be operating on the following routes:
- Delhi-Panipat
- Barasat–Sealdah
- Krishnanagar-Sealdah
- Falaknuma–Lingampalli
- Thane-Vashi
- Panvel–Nerul-Thane
Even though these trains were received well in the previous budget, feedback from commuters was not so favourable.

Some of the women have opined that the trains would be better off with two boggies dedicated to women rather than full trains running for them.
