Railways to set up 522 hospitals: Mamata
New Delhi, Feb 24: Minister for Railways Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday, Feb 24, announced that with the cooperation of Union Ministry of Health, it is expected that about 522 hospitals and diagnostic centres would be set up.
Mamata said that the initiative would benefit railway employees and their children in a big way.
She said Outpatient Departments (OPD) and diagnostic centres will be set up in places like Agartala, Agra Cantt, Aligarh, Amethi, Amritsar, Balasore, Bhubaneswar, Bardhaman, Delhi Cantt, Howrah and Itanagar.
They will also be set up in Bangalore City, Lalgarh, Lucknow, Machilipatnam, Madhepura, Madhubani, Satna, Sawai Madhopur, Secunderabad, Sewagram, Shahganj, Shakurbasti, Sri Satya Sai Prashanti Nilayam, Srikalahasti, Trichur, Tumkur, Tuni, Udhampur, Una, Vidisha, Vizianagaram, and Warangal
