Sushma Swaraj takes over as Leader of Opposition

New Delhi, Feb 23: Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar on Tuesday, Feb 23 introduced the new Leader of the Opposition to the house - Ms Sushma Swaraj.

Sushma Swaraj, who took over the post from the senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader LK Advani, was welcomed by the members of the house thumping their desks.

Even though he was not present in the house, the speaker thanked Mr Advani for his 'healthy and fruitful' cooperation in the conduct of the proceedings.
