Girl, 'lover' commit suicide over kissing video

Kannur, Feb 21: A 17-year-old school girl and a youth, supposed to be her lover, committed suicide after video clippings of her kissing a classmate was posted on the Internet.

According to the police, the bodies of the girl and the 27-year-old electrician were found hanging from a tree near her house on Saturday, Feb 20.

The video of the the girl kissing was recorded by another student with a mobile phone camera a few days ago.

Police said that the video was found uploaded on the internet and was also circulated as MMS.

The student, who had taken the mobile phone to an internet cafe for copying the video on a CD, has been arrested.

The complaint was filed by the school's Parent Teachers Association.

According to reports, the girl earlier had a love affair with her classmate, whose mischief later damaged her reputation.

Police sources said that he had secretly fixed the mobile phone in the school bag for the operation.
