Iranian women remanded to judicial custody for assaulting cop

Bangalore, Feb 19 (ANI): Two Iranain women have been remanded to judicial custody till February 20 for assaulting a male policeman after failing the breathalyser test for drunk driving on Thursday night.

College students Farima and Azara failed the breathalyser test and were not able to produce a valid license. The duo later went on to punch, kick, bite and verbally abuse the policeman.

After being arrested, the duo was produced before the Magistrate at Mayo Hall court, who remanded them to judicial custody till February 20.

On being brought back to the police station the two women even attacked camera personnel and reporters.

Police sources said, "The accused Farima (26) and Azar Fasle (29) were nabbed, the former for punching Traffic sub-inspector Ganesh Rao and biting his hand and Fasle for pushing a press photographer, resulting in his camera being broken."

The two women were staying at the international college.

Their passports and driving licenses have been seized by the police. (ANI)
