Terror threat to ODI puts Pink City on red alert
Jaipur, Feb 18: It's red alert in the Pink City as a terror threat to the Feb 21 ODI match between India and South Africa, to be held in the the Sawai Mansingh stadium here, has been confirmed by the police prompting them to step up the security.
"We have terror inputs of the threat and beefed up security at Sawai Mansingh Stadium (the match venue)," BL Soni, inspector general of Rajasthan police, informed on Thursday, Feb 18.
India is looking forward to host a slew of international sporting events including the Commonwealth Games, Hockey World Cup and the Indian Premier League 3.
Intelligence agencies have warned of these events being under the terror radar.
Besides this, terror groups like HuJI have openly declared a threat to the visiting international sportspersons and warned them against visiting India as the country is about to see a series of terror strikes.
The Feb 13 Pune blast has not only reminded the country of the possibility of terror attacks, but has put the whole country on alert.
