UP: Bus falls into river, 22 killed
Lucknow, Feb 17: At least 22 people have been killed and 30 others injured on Wednesday morning, Feb 17, when the bus they were travelling in fell into a river in Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun district.
Superintendent of Police Prem Gautam said, "The bus skidded off the road and fell into the Pahuj river."
"The passengers were on their way from Muraina in Madhya Pradesh to Jalaun to attend a wedding," Gautam was quoted by news agency as saying.
"We believe now no one is trapped inside the bus. We managed to rescue 40 passengers, of which 30 had received injuries in the accident," he added.
