PM seeks speedy investigation into Pune blast
New Delhi, Feb 14: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has asked the Maharashtra government to take coordinated and effective action to speedily investigate the Pune blast.
The Union Home Minister P Chidambarm had met the Manmohan Singh after reviewing the security situation across the country.
According to reports, Chidambaram had briefed Singh about the developments in the wake of the blast.
Singh told Chidambaram to ensure that "the culprits responsible for this heinous act are identified and brought to justice at the earliest", said an official in the Prime Minister's Office.
The Prime Minister has also announced Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia to the next of kin of those killed in the Pune terror attack and Rs 1 lakh to the injured.
