Auckland (New Zealand), Feb.14 (ANI): Auckland Police are not ruling out the possibility of the killer of Indian-born taxi driver Hiren Mohini having fled the country.

According to the NZPA, Mohini, 39, and a father of two, died on January 31 in Auckland's Mt. Eden area after he was repeatedly stabbed in his cab by a passenger he had picked up in the Auclkland central business district.

Police have since released an image of a man of Asian appearance they believe may be a suspect in the killing.

Investigation Head Detective Senior Sergeant Hywel Jones told The New Zealand Herald on Sunday that it was possible he may not be in New Zealand.

Film clips released by police show the man carrying a bag later found with blood on it near where Mohini died.

Police have appealed to Auckland's Asian community for help in tracing the man.

Jones said earlier that Mr Mohini's killer could strike again if he was not caught. (ANI)
