CBI identifies five key results areas for current year

New Delhi, Feb 12 (ANI): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday identified integrity, image and impact; registration and investigation; legal and prosecution; technical, forensic and coordination; administration and training as key results areas and decided to achieve them in the current year.

CBI Director Ashwani Kumar identified these results areas after holding a detailed discussion with law officers, heads of branches and heads of zones.

Kumar also expressed confidence that these priorities and outcomes will turn 2010-the year of transformation for the CBI.

The CBI has decided to implement Right to Information (RTI) Act and Whistle Blower's Resolution in letter and spirit and also to ensure that all complainants and witnesses are attended to with promptitude and treated with utmost courtesy.

Kumar further asked his personnel to focus attention on sectors having direct impact on common people like food, pharmaceutical, education, health, FICN, insurance, human trafficking, missing persons especially women, children among many others.

In the results areas the Kumar also stressed on time bound completion of investigation as laid down in policy division of the CBI.

The identified results areas also asked sleuths to adopt unique techniques of gathering information, intelligence, interview, interrogation and innovation to be adopted in each case.

The CBI is also planning to establish Technical and Forensic Support Units (TAFSUs) in all of its Zonal offices.

Kumar asked officials to strengthen intra-CBI, inter-state, inter-agency and International cooperation in crime and criminal investigation and prosecution. (ANI)
