'Indo-Turkish trade envisaged to double by 2012'
Mumbai, Feb 11: Indo-Turkish bilateral trade is expected to double by 2012, President of Turkey, Abduallah Gul said on Thursday, Feb 11.
Gul said "India and Turkey have much in common and the mutual expertise can be used to widen the trade prospects. There is a need to re-discover our relationship."
He noted that, "Encouraging people-to-people interaction and improving air connectivity to other cities of India will certainly help in knowing each other better."
Gul was speaking at interaction session with the leaders of the Indian industry organized by CII and BSE in Mumbai.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State of Turkey, Prof Mehmet Aydin said, "From US$ 3.44 billion in 2007-08, it is envisaged that the bilateral trade will cross $ 5 bn mark by 2012."
