CBI concludes arguments in 1984 riot case
New Delhi, Feb 10: The CBI on Wednesday, Feb 10, concluded arguments before a court here in the 1984 anti-Sikh riot case.
The CBI Prosecutor Sanjay Kumar termed the witness' statement as 'false and concocted' made against the former Union Minister Jagdish Tyler.
"The version of (witness) Jasbir Singh is absolutely false and concocted. He has made statements with an intention to falsely implicate Tytler," Kumar told before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Rakesh Pandit.
The CBI counsel submitted closure that they have examined the father, brother and son of Surender Singh, another witness and they all have said that he was not giving correct statements.
The CBI concluded its arguments before the court which asked the victim's counsel to file a protest petition in the matter and posted the matter for Feb 23.
On Feb 8, the Delhi High Court had directed the lower court to complete the trial of all pending anti-Sikh riots cases.
