Brit teacher gives teenager alcohol, expensive gifts to groom him for sex

London, Feb 10 (ANI): A British teacher is said to have lavished a 15-year-old schoolboy with expensive gifts and alcohol in a bid to groom him for sex.

Anne Poli-Page, 47, is said to have become so obsessed with the teenager that she rang his school four times pretending to be his mother, saying he was ill, so she could spend the day with him, reports the Daily Express.

Leicester Crown Court was told that the teacher let the boy drink cider, paid for his mobile phone bill and bought him gifts including a tennis racket.

The single mother of three, who befriended the boy and performed a striptease for him after meeting him at a social event, also told him she could not wait until he was 16 and that he was "bad" for her hormones.

The relationship continued for several months, until the teenager finally reported Poli-Page, from Southfields College, to a teacher at his own school.

Police were called in and the IT teacher was suspended from her job.

Poli-Page, from Blaby, Leicester, who had previously been warned about inappropriate behaviour with another male student, admitted meeting a child following sexual grooming and child abduction.

She also pleaded guilty to harassment but denied sexual assault, a charge, which was later dropped by the prosecution.

Poli-Page, who was released on bail with conditions, including not to contact the boy and to co-operate with the preparation of a pre-sentence report, will have to sign the sex offenders' register.

The grooming charge relates to her patting his knee and on one occasion taking her top off in front of him.

She will be sentenced on April 7. (ANI)
