Fresh avalanche kills jawan in Kashmir
Srinagar, Feb 9: Just when the army is yet to recover from the massive Gulmarg avalanche that claimed 17 lives, one soldier was killed in a fresh avalanche that struck Kashmir Valley in Kupwara district on Tuesday, Feb 8.
Defence spokeman said that Tangdhar was hit by the avalanche at around 3.45 am, which led to 14 army personnel being trapped under the heap of snow.
Earlier on Monday, Feb 8, 17 army men, including one officer, were killed and 17 others were injured in the gigantic avalanche that struck a popular skiing resort in Gulmarg.
