Khooni Darwaza rape case: High Court upholds conviction of prime accused

New Delhi, Feb 8 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Monday upheld the conviction and life sentence of prime accused Rahul in the 2005 'Khooni Darwaza' rape case.

Pronouncing its judgement, the court held Rahul's accomplice Amit guilty of rape charges and sentenced him to 7 years rigorous imprisonment.

The two have been charged for allegedly raping a fourth-year student of the Maulana Azad Medical College at knifepoint in January 2005.

The victim was allegedly raped by the duo at knifepoint on the terrace of the famous Mughal monument 'Khooni Darwaza' in central Delhi.

The court had earlier awarded Rahul and Amit life imprisonment in connection with the case.

The Delhi police had filed a chargesheet against them in 2003 in the concerned case. (ANI)
