Scientists uncover 3,000 dinosaur footprints in China

London, Feb 07 (ANI): Scientists in China have reportedly found more than 3,000 dinosaur footprints, belonging to at least six dinosaur types.

According to the state news agency Xinhua, the discovery was made at Zhucheng City in eastern Shandong province.

Seemingly, the footprints, which range from 10cm (3.9in) to 80cm in length, belong to dinosaur types including tyrannosaurs, coelurosaurs and hadrosaurs.

The footprints were uncovered on a 2,600 sq m (0.64 acre) rock slope in a gully following three months of excavation work.

Experts are of the opinion that the prints are 100 million years old, reports the BBC News.

They insist it could apparently represent a migration or a panicked attempt to escape predators. (ANI)
