Ragged student sets himself ablaze in TN
Chennai, Feb 7: A first year under graduate student allegedly committed suicide in Tamil Nadu due to ragging on Saturday evening, Feb 6.
According to police, K Sreedhar, a B Com student of a private arts and science college in the Villupuram district, set himself ablaze following harassment by senior students.
Police said, Sreedhar was admitted to the JIPMER hospital in Puducherry but he succumbed to burn injuries.
The police has registered cases against three students under the Tamil Nadu prohibition of ragging act.
