Hyderabad: Building collapses, many feared trapped
Hyderabad, Feb 5: Days after a under-construction building came crashing down in Bellary, fear gripped Hyderabad as a similar mishap occurred near a school.
The police say that at least three people have been injured and over 10 people trapped in the rubble of the three-storey under construction building which collapsed on Friday, Feb 5.
"We don"t know the exact numbers but six to 10 people may be trapped under the debris," Hyderabad district collector Naveen Mittal informed the media.
Some media reports suggest that the mishap has claimed two lives.
A shock wave ran through the state when initial media reports suggested that a school building had collapsed. However, it was later established that the school was adjacent to the building which collpased.
Children were evacuated from the building as the parents hurried to get their children back home safe.
Fire services department and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) men, ambulances were rushed to the spot, where rescue operations are underway.
