Three militants killed in JK encounter

Jammu, Feb 4: Security personnel on Thursday, Feb 4, killed three militants in an encounter in Kistwar district here, official sources said.

According to sources, four Harkat-ul-Jehadi militants were hiding in Chicha forest area of the district, 260 kms from here.

Rashtriya Rifle troops launched a search and cordon operation in the area, sources said.

Militants opened fire on the search party and in the ensuing gunbattle between the two sides, the three militants were killed.

The encounter was still going in the area, sources added.
