Chennai exhibition has Rudrakshas worth millions of rupees

Chennai, Feb.4 (ANI): A special exhibition of a vast variety of 'Rudrakshas', or the holy beads, has become a major draw for visitors here at the C.P. Art Foundation, Eldams Road, Alwarpet here.

It aims at creating general awareness among the people about the positive effects of Rudraksha and also to differentiate it from duplicate ones.

Organised by the Indo-Nepal Rudraksha Organisation, the displayed collection features unique ranges of Rudrakshas beads with one to 21 'mukhis' (symbolic faces).

It includes one Mukhi Round Rudraksha, Naga Rudraksha, Srikanta Mala, Siddha Mala. The rare wealth Kuber Rudrakhsa worth 22,00,000 has also been exhibited.

"Our main intention is that people get awareness about Rudraksha. In that way everyday we are doing demonstrations how to find out original Rudraksha among the duplicate," said N. Panduranga Rao, Director of the Indo-Nepal Rudraksha Organisation.

"Charaksamhita is the father of medicine. Rudraksha is at first place in Charaksamhita. Rudraksha basically is good for health," Panduranga Rao said.

He also informed that these all Rudrakshas are from the Himalayas. Rudraksha is also grown in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka but the Himalayan variety is of high quality.

Indramala is the costliest Rudraksha bead, which is worth 7.5 million rupees and is very rarely found. By Jaikumar (ANI)
