Ranbir encounter case: Two policemen get bail

Dehradun, Feb 2: A CBI court on Tuesday, Feb 2, granted anticipatory bail to two policemen, who were charge-sheeted in the Ranbir Singh fake encounter case.

Special CBI Judge Anuradha Garg granted anticipatory bail to Indrabhan Singh and Jaspal Singh Gosai, both accused of tampering evidence in the case.

22-year-old Ranbir, an MBA student from Ghaziabad, was killed allegedly in a fake encounter by police on Jul 3, 2009.

The CBI had charge-sheeted a total of 18 policemen in the case of which seven were arrested.

The next hearing in the case will take place on Mar 8, 2010.
