Telangana Cong leaders to discuss JAC issue
Hyderabad, Feb 1: Telangana Congress leaders on Monday, Feb 1, would discuss the party's directive that they should 'withdraw' from the all-party Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC).
Speaking to reporters, Congress MLA B Saraiah said, "The matter would be discussed at a meeting of the leaders from Telangana."
Saraiah said, "The JAC was formed at the residence of senior MLA and former minister K Jana Reddy and that it never acted against the party."
Union Minister Veerappa Moily on Sunday, Jan 31, had said that Congress leaders should "withdraw" themselves from the JAC.
He warned that "any violation of the party discipline will be seriously dealt with."
The statement comes after JAC extended its deadline to Feb 7.
JAC had also asked resignations of all legislators within the deadline.
