Gunfight ends in Sopore in JK

Jammu, Jan 31: A gunfight that broke out between militants and security forces on Saturday evening , Jan 30, in north Kashmir is over.

According to a police official, the gunbattle continued between the Lashkar militants and security forces all through the night in Sopore town.

Police said, "The gunfight erupted when police cordoned off Khanduj filling station area near the Sopore bus stand after a tip-off that some militants were present there."

Sources said that two Lashkar militants holed up in the New Colony house have been escaped.
