However, a new survey debunks the notion, offering a ray of hope to Britons seeking love.

A survey of 2,000 singles by the dating site parship.co.uk, shows that January is the bonanza time for budding romances, reports the Scotsman.

And Saturday the 30th is the year's biggest night for first dates, with an estimated 700,000 encounters. (ANI)
