SRK, Kajol to be first Indian stars to open NASDAQ

New York, Jan 30: Shahrukh Khan and Kajol are going to be the first Indian stars to sound the opening bell of American stock exchange, NASDAQ on Monday, Feb 1.

The popular Bollywood onscreen couple have been invited as an act of promotion for their upcoming film 'My Name Is Khan".

SRK and Kajol would be ringing the bell on behalf of Fox Searchlight Pictures which is distributing the film in the US market, a NASDAQ spokesman said.

“This prestigious event is usually reserved for CEOs of major corporations and is broadcast live on many television networks across the globe," Indian promoters of the movie in the US said.

NASDAQ has about 3,700 companies listed, making it the stock exchange with most trading volume than any other stock exchange in the world.
