Microsoft Q2 net profit leaps 60 pc
New York, Jan 29: Software major, Microsoft posted a whopping 60 per cent surge in its net profit during the second quarter ended Dec 31, 2009.
Attributing the growth to the 'exceptional demand for Windows 7', Microsoft"s Chief Financial Officer Peter Klein said, “Our continuing commitment to managing costs allowed us to drive earnings performance ahead of the revenue growth."
The company's net profit stands at 6.66 billion dollars, accounting for 14 per cent growth (YoY), as against the net profit of 4.18 billion dollar in the three months ended Dec 31, 2008.
In the statement release on Thursday, Jan 28, the company also reported a record revenue of 19.02 billion dollars in the quarter.
