Democracy prevented India from attacking Pak post 26/11 : Pak Punjab governor
Lahore, Jan.28 (ANI): India would have announced an all out war against Pakistan following the November 2008 Mumbai attacks if there had not been democracy in the country, Punjab governor Salman Taseer has said.
Speaking at a seminar on 'Future of Democracy in Pakistan' at a private university here, Taseer said situation would have been completely different after the 26/11 attacks if military rule had been there.
"Democracy is our strength and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government was taking the country on the course of development because of democracy. It was people's will which brought the party to power and the same would again bring the party in power in the next election," The News quoted Taseer, as saying. (ANI)
