Protestors, police clash in Srinagar, 7 injured
Srinagar, Jan 27: At least five persons were injured on Wednesday, Jan 27, when angry protestors clashed with security personnel in Srinagar.
The protesters were demanding removal of CRPF picket. They alleged that security personnel manhandled them when a 'pro-freedom' demonstration was taken out on Tuesday, Jan 26.
According to police, all shops and business establishments in the areas remained closed and traffic was also diverted through other routes.
Police said that intense clashes between groups of youth and police were going on at several places in Batmaloo.
Five persons were injured in the clashes so far. However, none of the injuries were serious in nature, they said.
