Oracle plans to recruit 2,000 employees: Report
New York, Jan 27: Software maker Oracle Corp is planning to hire 2,000 sales and engineering employees, media report said.
According to Wall Street Journal, Oracle is also said to be closing its $7 billion acquisition of computer maker Sun Microsystems Inc.
"The new hires will outnumber the cuts Oracle is making in Sun's head count," Oracle Chief Executive Larry Ellison was quoted as saying.
"Oracle plans to focus on selling computer systems that combine hardware and software," the Journal said.
Ellison also said that the company will announce two such systems in 2011.
The Journal said that Ellison is expecting the systems that combine hardware and software to become a multibillion-dollar market.
