Swine flu claims 7 more lives, toll at 1,117

New Delhi, Jan 25: At least seven more people succumbed to the deadly Swine Flu, taking the country's death toll to 1,177.

According to health authorities, four deaths were reported in Chhattisgarh, two in Maharashtra and one in Gujarat on Saturday, Jan 23.

Chhattisgarh has so far reported six deaths due to the pandemic virus. In Maharashtra, the death toll has climbed to 308 and in Gujarat, it has reached 209.

39 Fresh cases were reported across the country.

Health authorities said, "With these new cases, India has so far reported 28,551 infections since it reported its first case of swine flu from Hyderabad in May 2009."
