Ahead of polls, SL opposition comes under attack
Colombo, Jan 22: With just four days left for the presidential elections to begin, Sri Lanka is witnessing unrest as reports of opposition being targeted by attacks come in.
Latest reports suggest that the home of opposition presidential candidate Sarath Fonseka's campaign manager here was targeted by a bomb attack.
Unidentified assailants reportedly hurled a bomb at the the house of businessman and opposition member Tiran Alles in the Western Province.
The bomb is said to have severely damaged the house of the opposition member besides destroying the car parked in the compound.
The house reportedly caught on fire after the attack and fire tenders were rushed in.
No one was hurt in the incident.
