26/11 case: Lahore HC rejects Lakhvi's plea
Lahore, Jan 22: A court on Friday, Jan 22, rejected LeT operative Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi's plea seeking the transfer of 26/11 case from Rawalpindi to this eastern Pakistani city.
Chief justice Khwaja Muhammad Sharif said there was no justification for the request for Lakhvi's trial to be shifted from Rawalpindi to Lahore.
Chief justice Sharif also directed the federal and Punjab governments to ensure that foolproof security is provided to Lakhvi and his counsel Khwaja Sultan.
Earlier, Lakhvi had filed an application claiming that there was a purported threat to his life.
He had also asked for his trial to be transferred from an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi to Lahore.
